Health and wellness is my passion! The last few months have been focused on Reiki and the healing benefits of this complimentary alternative approach to western medicine. Want to lift and tone your back end quickly so you look as good coming AND going?! I absolutely recommend lunges — not only is this easy to implement exercise great for your butt but also for your quads and hamstrings. How far you step determines which muscles are more engaged while working the entire upper leg. Below is the correct form for a forward lunge. Change this up by keeping the same form but step directly back and then in a curtsy to work the muscle slightly different. Give yourself additional butt time by squeezing and releasing your butt muscle several times: while you’re standing in line, driving, reading, etc. — it’s addicting!
Starting Position
Stand with your feet about 6 inches apart from each other toes pointed forward.
How to Correctly Perform a Forward Lunge
INHALE: Step forward with one leg and lower your body to 90 degrees at both knees. Don’t step out too far. There should be 2 to 2.5 feet between your feet at this point. Keep your weight on your heels and don’t allow your knees to cross the plane of your toes. EXHALE: Push up and back with the weight in your heel, not in your toes, to the starting position to complete one rep. Repeat all reps on one leg, then switch to complete one set. Hold dumb bells to add more resistance for advanced training.
TIPS: Keep your back upright. The further you step, the more you work the glutes (buttocks) and hamstrings. The closer you step, the more you work the quadriceps muscles on the top of your thighs. Place your hand on a chair or wall or balance if necessary.

I used to feel that weighing in each day would be a negative because it would be a reminder of how slowly (or quickly) I was to meeting my ideal weight goal. I’ve since changed my tune! In actuality, weighing in each day, at the same time every day, keeps you on track and on target. Plus, it’s been documented many times over that those that weigh in daily tend to maintain a steady weight. I definitely make it a point every morning to weigh in instead of avoiding the scale. Control your weight instead of allowing it to control you — step on your scale!

Have you been hitting it hard and are now stuck? Re-supercharge yourself and your fitness goals with these five easy plateau busters:
1) BACK OFF — This doesn’t mean putting the brakes on but simply ease up a bit! Cut down on intensity and focus on technique and flexibility. Once you feel re-energized , ramp it back up!
2) TURN IT UP A NOTCH — If you’ve been working out without feeling like you’re working out , it’s time to turn up the heat!
The easiest way to add intensity is to add resistance — either with weights or even your own body weight. You’ll know you’ve hit your mark when you feel energized or when you’re hardly able to complete your workout.
3) STREAMLINE YOUR DIET — Again , it’s all about change. If you are following a plan that rewards you when you’ve met your goal , switch to a plan that is super strict for a week. Meet the challenge head on!
4) MOVE IN THE MORNING — Add 20 minutes or so of light to moderate cardio first thing in the morning (before you eat) to get your metabolism charged for the day. Plus , you’ll be training your body how to more efficiently use stored fat as fuel.
5) ADD OR SUBTRACT 500 CALORIES / DAY — As you are training or moving towards your fitness goal , you may be underestimating how much or how little you are eating. As you become fitter , your body composition is changing (fat to lean muscle ratios) so using this strategy can jumpstart your progress again. NOTE: This strategy is based on the fact that you currently are eating properly! If you’re not , then use #3!

What matters most is the total amount of interest you pay over the term of your loan. Did you get that? It’s the total amount of interest you pay over the term of your loan. For example, a $ 200,000 30-year loan at 6% will actually have a total repayment of $ 431,677 – that’s $ 231,677 in interest. It’s not until year 21 that more of your monthly payment is applied towards the principal than the interest!
I hear objections – you’re planning to refinance or move so you won’t have a 30-year loan. Okay, so you’ve refinanced and locked in a great new low rate. But, you’re also restarting the debt interest cycle – from year one. And, until you move, for whatever time you are in your property, pay down the debt and accelerate equity (in most cases more than 1,000%) instead of just paying the minimum. Then, when you move, you’ll have a larger chunk of equity to tap.
I Can Do This Myself
This is another common objection. If you are one of the less than 1% of people that IS doing this, congratulations. Let’s say you are using the bi-weekly strategy. You can expect a loan term reduction of seven years maximum. With the MMA system, you can expect a loan term reduction of 7 years minimum with an average pay off in 10.4 years. Of course, the final outcome is based on a number of variables and your unique situation.
Do you own a car? If you had a major breakdown, would you take the time to troubleshoot, call for parts, wait for the parts to arrive, and then fix it? Optimum interest savings under this system is a delicate balance between your primary loan, your line of credit, your income, expenses, transfers, etc. If you transfer too much to your primary property loan, it can cost you more interest on your line of credit. If you transfer too little, it can cost you “lost” interest savings on your primary mortgage. This system assists you to reduce both the interest and time owing on your existing loan by strategically positioning your money where it can provide much more financial benefit and by functioning as your primary checking account – with money going in and money going out.
How Much Does it Cost?
If your loan officer said to you, “Hey Bob or Sally, I have a system that will pay your property off in 1/2 to 1/3 of the time, save you from paying thousands of dollars in scheduled interest, requires no additional monthly income, no refinance, and no change to your lifestyle. It only costs you 3 points on the balance of your loan. Are you in?” You’ may respond, “You bet! Where do I sign!” Three points on a $ 200,000 loan is $ 6,000.00 – from your pocket! The MMA system costs much less than this and also is backed by a money-back guarantee, can be transferred to subsequent properties, and can be funded using the bank’s money.
The right question to ask is “How much will it cost me if I don’t check it out?”. Here are a couple of results from my clients:
